Arctic Eye Awakening aftercare in Dallas: what to do in the first 48 hours

The most important Arctic Eye Awakening aftercare rule is simple: keep the under-eye area clean, calm, and hands-off for the first 48 hours. This is a 15-minute cooling therapy I do to reduce puffiness and calm under-eye inflammation, and your results look best when you avoid rubbing, makeup, sweating, and heat right after. And in Dallas, heat and humidity make that last part extra important.

0–24 hours: keep it dry, skip makeup, and don’t sweat the details

Right after your Arctic Eye Awakening, I want you thinking “cool and quiet.” The skin under the eyes is thin, and even when you feel fine, friction and heat can bring on extra redness or puffiness.

For the first day: keep the area clean and dry, avoid rubbing, and hold off on eye makeup, mascara, and makeup remover around the eyes.

Do this today

  • Use gentle cooling if you feel puffy. A clean cold compress or approved cooling eye pads work well. Keep it light, no pressure.
  • Wash your hands before you touch your face. Then try not to touch the eye area at all.
  • If you commute on US 75/North Central Expressway, toss travel-ready cooling pads in your bag so you’re not tempted to rub your eyes in traffic.

Avoid this today

  • Eye makeup and makeup remover around the treated area.
  • Strenuous exercise that makes you sweat heavily. In Dallas heat and humidity, this is usually the fastest way to trigger swelling.
  • Hot environments like saunas, steam rooms, or long hot showers where your face sits in heat.
  • Swimming (chlorine and lake water can irritate the under-eye area).

24–48 hours: returning to normal without losing that “awake” look

By day two, most people feel back to normal, but this is where aftercare makes the difference between “nice” and “noticeably refreshed.” Arctic Eye Awakening is designed to support lymphatic drainage and give you that instant, sculpted awakening effect. Heat, friction, and strong skincare can work against it.

Quick rule of thumb: if it stings, tingles hard, or makes you want to rub your eyes, don’t put it near your under-eyes yet.

If you’re heading out in Uptown or meeting friends near Knox-Henderson, plan your makeup around the rule below. I’d rather you go fresh-faced with a great under-eye than cover it up and accidentally irritate it.

  • Keep avoiding rubbing. Even “gentle” rubbing counts.
  • Keep workouts light if you can. If you absolutely have to move, choose a low-sweat option and skip hot yoga or intense spin for now.
  • Avoid retinol, exfoliating acids, and aggressive brightening eye products for 48 to 72 hours unless I’ve okayed it for you.

Days 3–7: small habits that keep puffiness down

Once you’re past the first 48 hours, you can usually slide back into your normal routine, but I still want you to treat the under-eye like a “no drama zone” for the rest of the week.

My “keep it simple” week-after checklist

  • Use a gentle cleanser and pat dry. No scrubbing around the eyes.
  • Stick with soothing hydration. If you’re not sure about a product, pause it for a few days.
  • Be mindful of sun and heat exposure. Dallas sun plus sweat tends to bring puffiness right back.
  • Sleep and salt matter. One late night and a salty dinner can show up under the eyes fast.

A lot of my regulars pair Arctic Eye Awakening with other appointments because it’s quick and it plays nicely with a packed schedule. If you’re already coming in for brow shaping, a lash lift, lash tint, or you’re searching for facials near me, this add-on helps you leave looking more rested without adding a long recovery window.

Products to use (and pause) after a cold eye treatment

For cold eye treatment aftercare, I’m picky on purpose. The goal is to protect your barrier and keep inflammation down.

Good choices for the first 48–72 hours

  • A simple, fragrance-light moisturizer around the orbital bone (not dragged right up to the lash line).
  • A soothing serum only if I’ve recommended it for you.
  • Clean cooling pads used briefly, especially if you’ve got a long day on the SMU or Knox-Henderson corridor and you feel swelling creep in.

Pause these near the eye area

  • Retinol and retinal products
  • Exfoliating acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic) and strong vitamin C
  • Anything that makes you red or itchy, even if you “usually tolerate it”

If you’re also doing dermaplane, microdermabrasion, a hydrofacial, or a chemical peel, tell me what’s on the calendar so I can help you space things out and keep your skin calm.

Reach out fast for red flags (and yes, I’ll talk you through it)

A little pinkness or mild puffiness can happen, especially if you’re prone to allergies or you had a long day in the Dallas sun. That said, I don’t want you guessing.

Contact me right away if you have severe pain, vision changes, rapidly worsening swelling, spreading redness, or anything that feels “not normal” for your body.

Quick recap: the 3 rules that protect your Arctic Eye Awakening

  • Hands off for 48 hours. Rubbing is the fastest way to lose that refreshed look.
  • Keep it cool and skip heat, heavy sweat, sauna, steam, and swimming for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Pause actives like retinol and acids for 48 to 72 hours unless I’ve told you otherwise.
